Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) conditioning, nourishing the liver and kidneys, regulating qi and blood, to help establish a normal menstrual cycle.

Amenorrhea is divided into primary amenorrhea and secondary amenorrhea. Primary amenorrhea refers to the absence of menstruation in women by the age of 16. Secondary amenorrhea refers to the cessation of menstruation for 6 months after the menstrual cycle has been established, or the cessation of menstruation for more than 3 cycles based on one's own menstrual cycle. The absence of menstruation before puberty, during pregnancy, lactation, and after menopause are all physiological phenomena. *

There are many causes of amenorrhea. Apart from a few cases of congenital functional development disorders and organic lesions of the ovaries and uterus, most patients with amenorrhea are caused by endocrine disorders. The main causes of endocrine disorders include mental stress, overwork, excessive physical exercise, rapid weight loss or gain, imbalanced nutrition, and drug side effects. *

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the pathogenesis of amenorrhea is nothing more than deficiency and excess. Deficiency mainly refers to the lack of vital essence and blood, emptiness of the Chong and Ren meridians (blood sea), interruption of the flow, and no blood to discharge, leading to amenorrhea; excess refers to qi and blood stagnation, phlegm-damp obstruction leading to blockage of the Chong and Ren meridians, stagnant blood flow, and inability of menstrual blood to descend, resulting in amenorrhea. Common causes of amenorrhea are related to liver and kidney deficiency, qi and blood deficiency, cold coagulation in the uterus, and qi stagnation and blood stasis. Clinically, many cases involve both deficiency and excess. *

A normal menstrual cycle and ovulation depend on the balance of yin and yang in the body. For women, qi and blood are fundamental, and the liver and kidneys are the source. Tonifying qi and blood, and regulating the liver and kidneys are the main therapeutic principles in Traditional Chinese Medicine gynecology.
